Fit enough?
So, here I am at 43 years old. My Twin Flame, Josh, who's 29, and I are beginning a regular workout routine together. We both realized we had a bit of extra padding around the midsection, and we decided to tackle it together. We started a routine of pushups, sit-ups, squats, and lots of walking. I got to about 50 reps of sit-ups, pushups, and squats...
At first, I was doing okay, but as time went on, I found myself lagging behind Josh, who was beginning to get totally ripped. I was feeling better and had more energy, but no matter what I did, my body didn’t really change that much outwardly, and I felt maxed out. It got me thinking about how our bodies operate differently.
I had a powerful realization when I watched the Twin Flames: Romance Attraction e-Course, lesson 6. Shaleia emphasized that you don't need to fit into a specific physical mold for love and attraction to thrive, especially with your Twin Flame.
Our society teaches us that we need to fit a set of standards in order to be acceptable to someone, and there is a lot of negative programming around the female body that both women and men have to unravel. What this course teaches is a new way to be to attract someone, and that’s through unconditional love. In that lesson, I learned that self-acceptance and embracing my own unique body type were crucial.
It hit me that I didn't have to be like Josh to be loved.
That's when Josh and I had our weekly session with my coaches, Jason Emerick and Chrissy Emerick, and we discussed how my body is unique and has its own way of responding to workouts compared to Josh's. What works for him may not work for me. It is SO helpful to have coaching in our Union together because it brought Josh and I closer together around these very sensitive issues.
So, I decided to surrender and let go of the comparison game. I embraced myself where I was, and stopped trying so hard to be like Josh. The amazing part? Josh responded to my self-acceptance by paying more attention to me and being even more affectionate.
I changed my routine a bit, altering it from his. I don’t lift heavy weights right now, and instead I am incorporating yoga and light weights. And we still go on our long walks. We average about 70 km per week. I can work up bit by bit to more fitness, but what I learned from Jeff and Shaleia in Life Purpose Class is that working with my body’s natural responses and growth is key. That if we try to push too fast and hard, this destabilizes the system and progress is Sustainable growth and self-acceptance is key.
It made me think about how important it is for all of us to accept ourselves for who we are. Your Twin Flame loves you for you, and when you embrace your true self, amazing things happen. It's not about trying to fit into a certain mold; it's about listening to your body and giving it what it needs.
I wanted to share this with you because I believe that accepting ourselves is a key component of true health and happiness. I'm feeling more content and connected than ever, and I truly believe it's because I let go of the pressure to be someone I'm not. And as I love myself, Josh loves me as I am, and loves the woman I’m growing into.
